Types Of Events
Crafty Canvas OK was designed to enhance people’s lives with crafty classes. Our 10 seat studio has a comfy, boho vibe and we pride ourselves on empowering people to feel comfortable as they embark on their creative process. Currently we are offering canvas painting/open studio, paint pouring and chemical glass etching. We will be adding some upcycle crafts and DIY jewelry stamping as well.
No BYOB. BYO Booze is illegal in the state of OK. BYO Brownies (any MMJ) is illegal due to Crafty Canvas OK being less than 1,000 feet from the school behind the building. Feel free to bring take out from any one of the numerous places along Sunnylane or SE 29th Street. Studio favorites are Miltepitos by Sonic on 15th and Sunnylane or Papi Banh Mi on 29th. Complimentary bottled water and canned soda included in your ticket price.
Crafty Canvas OK offers Pick Your Painting (AKA “Open Studio”) for both adults and children. Adult canvases are 16 x 20 gallery wrapped canvas which is suitable for hanging sans frame. In our adult gallery we have over 100 paintings from which to choose. We do take walk ins, but seats are limited and sell out quickly. Peruse our online gallery or wait until you come in and peruse our sample selection. We offer full 16 x 20 templates for guests to trace onto their canvas. Our talented staff is available to give tips and tricks, but there is no step by step instruction because everyone has picked their own painting and works at their own pace. These events run about 3 hours because people really get in to their paintings!
For our pint sized painters, we offer a selection of presketched 11 x 14 canvases with themes popular with that demographic. These paintings take 60-90 minutes, so keep this in mind if you’re coming out for a family evening at Crafty Canvas OK!
PYOP is our most popular type of event. Make yours a private party with a minimum of 4, maximum of 10 people. Due to the sheer number of choices in both templates and 80+ colors of paint, PYOP events are only offered at the studio.

Direct Instruction Events is where everyone is painting the same picture with step by step guidance from your favorite Del City Paintertainer. We use gallery wrapped 16 x 20 canvases for adults and 11 x 14s for junior designs. Direct Instruction events are perfect for a private party at the studio with a minimum of 4 people or we will go onsite with a minimum of 8 people. Dutch Pour. Bottle Bottom. Balloon Kiss. All of these and more are types of paint pours we do at Crafty Canvas OK. Paint pouring events are usually on Sundays because they need to sit and dry because of the layers of paint on the canvas which create the beautiful one of a kind designs.
Join us for a chemical glass etching event! As with our flagship painting events, we have a large selection of templates from which to choose. Event includes either 2 glasses or mugs or 1 wine bottle. These events are strictly 18+ due to the use of chemicals.
We have an assortment of alphabets and stamps for making your own design. Pick your letters and then use a small hammer to create your piece!
What is “upcycling”? For Crafty Canvas OK, this means taking items and repurposing them for another use such as using old CDs to make suncatchers or Christmas tree ornaments. Washing wool sweaters to shrink them into felt that can be cut and used as a fabric. Painting on records and the list goes on. Check the calendar for current upcycle craft ideas which vary by season.
